Packaging Guideline

If you don’t know what kind of packaging material to use for your specific merch then just scroll down to see what material and how to package & ship properly.

   Goes in order as follows:

   - Canvas Paintings

   - Printed Artwork

Canvas Paintings

What you’ll need:

  • Acid-Free tissue paper (For Packaging Use Only)

  • Foam boards

  • Brown packaging paper

  • Bubble wrap (Small Bubbles)

  • Telescope cardboard box

  • Fragile Stickers

  • Packaging Tape & Regular Tape

  • Razor

  • Scissors

  • Ruler

Step 1.)  Place down a Comforter on the floor so that you have a soft surface to lay the Canvas face down upon.

Step 2.) Lay down a sheet of the Acid-Free Tissue Paper, then the Canvas faced down in the middle on top of the Tissue Paper.

Step 3.) Wrap the Acid-Free Tissue Paper around the Canvas and Tape with Regular Tape the ends down to secure it. Try to keep the Regular Tape on the Tissue Paper and not on the Canvas please!

Step 4.) Move the Canvas to the side and lay down a second sheet of Acid-Free Tissue Paper. Lay the Canvas facing upright in the middle of the second sheet of the Tissue Paper.

Step 5.) Wrap the Acid-Free Tissue Paper around the Canvas and Tape the ends down to secure it. You don’t have to worry about the Tape being on the Canvas now since it’ll only be touching Tissue Paper.

Step 6.) Move the Canvas to the side and lay down a third sheet of Acid-Free Tissue Paper. Lay the Canvas faced down in the middle of the third sheet of the Tissue Paper and then Tape the ends down to secure it.

Step 7.) Now move the Canvas to the side and take one of the Foam Boards and lay it down. Then lay the Canvas on top.

Step 7.5.) If the Canvas is too big for just one Foam Board, then take two of the Foam Boards and Tape them together with Packaging Tape by laying them side by side and Taping the seams together really well. Then lay the Canvas on top.

Step 8.) Take the Canvas and line it up about an inch away from the edges. Cut the Foam Board around the Canvas an inch away from the actual Canvas so that all sides are evenly one inch away from the Canvases edge. Use the Ruler to help measure an inch away if that helps!

Step 9.) Now scorn the Foam Board directly next to the Canvases edge by cutting it with the Razor but not using a lot of pressure so that you won’t be cutting all the way through. This allows the Foam Board to have flaps and bend over the Canvas sides while still attached in one piece. Cut away the corner squares so that it fits and bends properly.

Step 10.) Repeat steps 7-9 with another Foam Board so that you have two sides to sandwich the Canvas in between.

Step 11.) Place once Foam Board down with the flaps being able to turn up, then take the Canvas and place it in the middle on top of the Foam Board. Take the second Foam Board and put it over the Canvas with the flaps being able to bend downward. Tape all of the flaps down with Packaging Tape once the Foam Board makes a Foam Board Box around the Canvas so it is secure and tight.

Step 12.) Move the Artwork to the side and take the Brown Packaging Paper and unroll it onto the floor. Put the Artwork in the middle and cut off as much as you need to be able to wrap it like a christmas present. Use the Packaging Tape because Regular Tape doesn’t stick onto the Brown Packaging Paper properly.

Step 13.) Move the Packaged Artwork to the side and take your Bubble Wrap. Unwind it so that there’s enough space to place the Packaged Artwork in the middle of it. Have some room at the bottom for the Bubble Wrap to be wrapped to the top of the package. Tape it down in place with Packaging Tape to secure it onto the Foam Board.

Step 14.) Now wrap the Bubble Wrap around the Packaged Artwork as tightly as you can by holding the Bubble Wrap to the Packaged Artwork on either side and flipping the Packaged Artwork over and over again until you get a nice thick layer of Bubble Wrap covering the entire package.

Step 15.) Once you get about an inch of Bubble Wrap surrounding the Foam Packaged Artwork, cut off the excess and Tape down the end piece. Then Tape the open sides of the bubble wrap on either side of the Packaged Artwork. Using the Packaging Tape helps with this process to ensure it stays down.

Step 16.) Now grab your Cardboard Telescope Box and fold it together so that it looks like a box. There should be instructions on the side of the actual box to show how to do it. (If not, looking it up helps too lol) Place the Packaged Artwork into the box. If there is still room in there then stuff the remaining space with as much bubble wrap as you can manage.

Step 17.) Tape the box flaps down and closed tightly with the Packaging Tape and secure it down. Use as much tape as possible!

Step 18.) Whew, you’re almost done! Add a Fragile sticker on the Packaged Artwork and write the Return (yours) and Shipping (mine) Address to the proper positions, then ship it off! Don’t forget to email me once you do. <3

Flat Printed Artwork

What you’ll need:

  • Foam Boards

  • Packaging Tape & Regular Tape

  • Acid-Free tissue paper (For Packaging Use Only)

  • Brown Packaging Paper

  • Razor

  • Ruler

  • Scissors

  • Fragile Stickers

Step 1.) Lay down a sheet of the Acid-Free Tissue Paper. Then lay the Printed Artwork in the middle.

Step 2.) Wrap around the Artwork and crease the sides over the Artwork so it lays down flat, covering the top of the Artwork. Tape it down with the Regular Tape and try not to get any on the actual Artwork please!

Step 3.) Slide the Artwork over and place a second sheet of Acid-Free Tissue Paper down. Lay the Artwork flipped onto the other side in the middle of the sheet of Tissue Paper. Tape it down with Regular Tape to secure the Tissue Paper. you don’t need to worry about the Tape now since it’ll only be touching Tissue Paper.

Step 4.) Move the Artwork to the side and grab a Foam Board to place down. Put the piece of Artwork on the Foam Board and line it up with the Foam Boards’ corner edge. Draw a line tracing the Artwork onto the Foam Board to match the size of the piece. You can use a Ruler if necessary to make your line straight.

Step 5.) Move the Artwork off of the Foam Board. Take your Razor to cut out the Foam Board on the line you just drew. Take that Foam Board piece and place it on a different section of the Foam Board or on a different Foam Board if you ran out of space and cut out a second piece with your Razor that is the same size.

Step 6.) Now, place one Foam Board piece down and put the Artwork on top lining it up. Then put the second piece over the Artwork, sandwiching it.

Step 8.) Take your Packaging Tape and wrap a long piece of Packaging Tape around the pieces wrapping it all the way around the Artwork without cutting it until you reach the starting end. Make sure the pieces don’t slip as you’re taping hold it tightly together as you’re securing it down. Do two on either side of the pieces, portrait way and landscape way so that the Tapes cross each other.

Step 9.) Now move the Artwork to the side and take the Brown Packaging Paper to unroll onto the floor. Put the Artwork in the middle and cut off as much as you need to be able to wrap it like a christmas present. Use the Packaging Tape because Regular Tape doesn’t hold on the Brown Packaging Paper.

Step 10.) You’re almost done! All you need to do now is secure everything down once more with the Packaging Tape and put the addresses in the appropriate areas on the Packaged Artwork. If you want to use a cut out of Printer Paper to write the addresses on then you can.

Step 11.) Don’t forget to add your Fragile Sticker on the Package and ship it off! Make sure to Email me once you do! <3
